DJ: How do you sift truth from belief?
Objective: Understand the meaning of humanism; who is Machiavelli?; What is the Renaissance?
Class activities: Power point presentation (posted on the blog) called "Renaissance power point")
Blow the roof activity (last day)
Humanism activity (group work from the textbook; the textbook pages are also posted on the blog)
Clips from the Da Vinci Code (objective is to understand what the chalice is, why the characters are relating history back to the time period of Jesus Christ, and what the different sects of the Catholic Church are, ie Opus Dei)
Turn in the three sheets from the previous class period: 1) The Medieval Holocaust, 2) The Crusades, 3) The Black Death
HOMEWORK: Finish "humanism" worksheet if you did not finish during class
